Dental implants are a long-term solution for missing teeth. They are vital in maintaining oral health and improving quality of life.
Understanding the procedure, the types of implants, and the costs involved is key. But it’s also important to find a qualified and experienced implant dentist near you to perform the service.
Below, we’ll provide comprehensive information on these aspects to help you navigate the process of choosing dental implants in Ovilla, TX.
Let’s dive in and explore the world of dental implants near you.
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement teeth. They are made from titanium and are biocompatible, so your body will accept them without reacting.
An Ovilla, TX implant dentist surgically places an implant into the jawbone. Over time, the implant fuses with the bone in a process called osseointegration, which creates a stable base for the replacement tooth.
You’ll find two main types of dental implants near you: endosteal and subperiosteal implants.
Choosing the right implant dentist is crucial to a successful procedure. This complex procedure requires expertise and experience.
Finding a dentist in Ovilla, TX, who specializes in implantology is a great first step. Although they can still practice general dentistry, this specialization means they have extensive training and a proven track record.

When evaluating dental implant costs near you, remember that they are long-term investments often lasting a lifetime. So, while the upfront cost may seem high, the long-term benefits often outweigh the initial investment.
Dental insurance may cover at least part of the cost of dental implants in Ovilla, TX. However, coverage varies greatly between insurance providers, so it’s best to check with your insurance company to understand your benefits.

Your initial dental implant consultation is a crucial step in the process. During this visit, your dentist will assess your oral health and discuss your treatment options.
You may undergo imaging tests for a detailed view of your mouth to help the dentist plan the implant placement.
Finally, you’ll discuss the procedure’s cost, which is a great time to ask about insurance and financing options.

Recovery and Aftercare for Dental Implants
It’s normal to experience some discomfort after the dental implant procedure, such as swelling, bruising, and minor bleeding. Your dentist will provide specific aftercare instructions, which are crucial to ensure proper healing.
Good oral hygiene is also essential. Regular brushing and flossing will help keep the implant site clean.

Like any surgical procedure, dental implants come with potential risks, such as infection, nerve damage, or sinus problems.
However, complications are rare when the procedure is performed by a skilled dentist. It’s important to discuss any concerns with your dentist beforehand.

Having an implant done by Dr. Sharpe. Everything has been clearly explained and scheduled.
This dental office is excellent. Staff is professional and friendly. Appreciate the upbeat personality of Dr. Sharpe. She always has a smile and explains what needs to be done and any options available.
I highly recommend Ovilla Family Dentistry to anyone looking for a caring and quality dental experience-everything from a simple cleaning to implants.
Latest visit in February was 5 stars as always. Was seen by Dr.Shaw about my current situation. She recommended the course of action to be followed. Teeth were polished by Angie who is a real credit to Dr. Shaw's top notch staff.
I recommend this dental office and staff wholeheartedly to anyone searching for a new dentist.

Latest visit Nov 29th. Another crown snapped off. Called and was worked into a busy schedule. This entire staff from Amanda, Angie and the doctors are all superb. Friendly, efficient and professional. So very glad I decided to use Ovilla Family Dentistry. Wouldn't go anywhere else!
Oct 1st. Had a crown come off its post. Called DR. Shaw's number and got an appointment to come in early the next day. Dr. Shaw explained my options and told me that while I needed a new crown, she would do her best to cement this one back in. Thirty minutes later I had the crown firmly in place and was headed back out the door.
Dr. Shaw is a compassionate, caring professional who listens to her patients and offers them options. She actually told me that I might want to go back to the dentist who put my crown in, but I told her if it needed to be re-done I wanted her to be the one to do it.
Another 5 star experience.
Spent several hours searching for a good dentist in the Waxahachie area. Was surprised to see all of the 5 star rating for Dr. Shaw and her staff. Now I understand the rating first hand.
What a superb dental experience (ok, no one likes to pay the bill, but that aside). From the reception desk to the check out were all first class and definitely 5 star. I was seen by Angie and treated by Dr. Sheibley. This is the first time since I was a teenager that a dentist was able to numb a tooth while I was in the chair. I usually tell the dentist to go ahead and drill, the Novocain will take affect later. Not this visit. I experienced no pain and no problem while in the chair. Both ladies were kind, patient and informative. Checking several times to make certain I was doing okay.
The treatment they prescribed was conservative, but also may prevent a root canal. They could have just said a root canal and gone the more expensive way first.
I drive quite a distance to get to this office, but it is definitely worth it in my opinion. I was impressed enough that I have my wife schedule for a check-up with Dr. Shaw's staff next week. I would definitely recommend this dental office and staff to anyone searching for a new dentist.
